Intuition is a judgment that leads to the solution of a given problem through a subconscious analysis of the situation when logical explanations are insufficient. Intuition is built on increased empathy, rich experience in the required field, and imagination. The meaning of the word “intuition” is based on the Latin language, and literally means “to look closely.” The mechanism of intuitive processes consists in combining multimodal features into a single necessary solution. This process is constantly dynamic and has an individual character of manifestation depending on the characteristics of the individual, the emotional sphere, the independence and impartiality of a person’s thinking, as well as the combination of factors from the perspective of which the problem is considered.
Intuitive answers usually come to a person instantly, perhaps with a lack of information and without a conscious process of moving towards obtaining the desired answer. These processes are not the opposite of logical ones; they are rather different sides, which in their totality form one whole - intellectual creative activity. An important role in the formation of intuitive guesses is the generalization of all information received by a person and a high level of knowledge and experience regarding the area of solving the assigned problems.
Intuition is closely related to inspiration or a state of increased mental, spiritual and physical energy. Against this background, the sensitivity of all organs of perception increases, the level of attention and memory increases. As a result of such changes, it is possible for consciousness to reach a new level, expanding the framework of perception, behind which lie intuitive discoveries. The conditions for the occurrence of such an expansion can be called: concentration on the task at hand, reasonable distraction from it (to allow the manifestation of the unconscious), avoidance of stereotyping and prejudice, periodic switching to the opposite type of activity, concern for one’s own health and comfortable state.
What is human intuition?
Information for those who are interested in the concept of intuition and what it is in philosophy. Ancient thinkers discussed this phenomenon, each of them offering their own explanation. Generally speaking, this is the ability to penetrate into the essence of an event and gain deep knowledge of how to act. Occurs as a result of accumulated experience, sensuality, emotionality or the ability to think deeply.
Intuition is a word that appeared in our language from Latin, from “intuitio”, literally - contemplation. Plato considered it an insight that appears after intense mental activity. Feuerbach attributed intuition exclusively to the emotional sphere and believed that it was in no way interconnected with logical processes.
Intuition in rationalist psychology, according to Descartes, was considered nothing more than a clear and transparent reason, not taking into account imagination and feelings. But he, in their opinion, is capable of capturing the subtlest patterns of our world, but again, without the participation of logic.
Another meaning of this word, intuitiveness, is simply a natural instinct. It was this statement that Henri Bergson relied on when creating his theory of “creative evolution.” In his understanding, intuition is presented as a vital force that opposes reason and even reason.
Henri Bergson
Researchers of our time have made an attempt to create computer intuitive thinking. Artificial intelligence is capable of generating insights, like humans, without logical reasoning. But behind this ability are megawatts of information and logical algorithms embedded in its memory. A machine can provide “intuitive” answers to questions, but only after extensive training and “experience.”
Individual behavior
Let us consider in more detail the division of intelligence responsible for individual behavior. TEI believes that it is based on many models of the surrounding world, built during the course of an individual’s life. Intelligence builds models to be able to predict what will happen in the future. After all, the ability to react correctly now based on a correct forecast is one of the important characteristics of the degree of development of intelligence.
So, individual behavior is [first of all, but not only] a set of intellectual models of the surrounding world that have the ability to predict.
Here, for example, is a typical model: a ball model that predicts [before throwing] what will happen if an individual throws the ball and where it will land. Thus, any training [including ball throwing] can be considered as making amendments to the model to make it more adequate to reality.
Intelligent models here mean an understanding close to the definition of models in machine learning. Models in machine learning are some kind of black boxes, the principle of which depends on the specific type of model chosen, of which there are dozens today. But they have a common feature - this is a learning mode and a prediction mode. In the training mode, a set of training and test data is supplied as input, and the model looks for some kind of pattern in them. In prediction mode, based on a set of initial data passed to the input, the model is able to predict what will happen as a result, and this set was not necessarily contained in the training set.
But there is a difference: models in machine learning are implemented in digital computers, while models of natural intelligence, built on living neuron cells, can rather be considered analogue.
If we draw parallels with computer technology, we can say that these models are similar to analog computers. We have recently become accustomed to dealing only with digital technology. However, we can remember that it was preceded by analog computers, which now most likely can only be seen in a museum.

Analog computers could perform complex calculations much faster than their digital counterparts, but they were not universal. For each task, for example, to calculate a ballistic trajectory, it was necessary to build its own circuit. And with the increase in the productivity of digital computers, analog ones gave way to them. Those interested can see more details here.
So, to understand the nature of intuition, let's take a closer look at the patterns created by natural intelligence. Since their main function is to make forecasts, for definiteness we will call them predictive .
What kind of intuition is there?
Since the concept as such does not have an exact formulation and everyone uses their own interpretation of such a phenomenon as intuition, at least some kind of classification is necessary. Therefore, it is customary to use a division into types, as well as methods of using the so-called sixth sense.
They use intuition in different areas of life:
- In everyday life, the so-called common sense;
- In scientific and mental activity - artistic intuition;
- In the inventive sphere - technical;
- In professional activities - professional.
There are also types of intuition:
- Intelligence based;
- Based on sensuality;
- Based on emotions;
- Based on mystical premonitions;
- Based on professional skills.

How often have you found yourself thinking, “I told you so?”
" or
" My God, how did I know that
"?
Such situations are a clear sign that you are making the right choices for yourself
or are able to bring clarity to the lives of others.
Even if you don't say it out loud, you notice that your instincts about people, ideas, and path choices are almost always correct.
Continue to listen to your intuition when your sixth sense pulls you in a certain direction.
How does intuition work?
Of course, I want to know what intuition depends on in order to master this skill at will. After all, “tamed” intuition can open up unimaginable prospects for humanity. However, this miracle is only available to a select few people. Why can some people foresee events or understand the essence of things, while others fail to do so?
Most often, this term refers to the ability to draw correct conclusions based on previous experience in similar situations. It is this type that researchers pay attention to first of all, as the most understandable and explainable phenomenon. At the same time, the size of the experience is crucial; the larger it is, the more often insights occur. Here is an example of hand-to-hand combat. During a fight, a fighter has no time for analysis and reflection, and intuitive flashes occur instantly.
Can you trust intuition that is based on feelings?
- To answer this question, they give an example of an experiment on a group of people. They were asked to choose cards from two proposed decks with a blue and a green back. At the same time, sensors were attached to their hands, and for certain cards, the subjects received a monetary reward or gave it away.
- The green deck had fewer “lucky” cards, but the participants in the experiment did not know this. After some time, they began to understand what was wrong and came to the right conclusions using logic. But the essence of the experiment was that people guessed this on a subconscious level before they could realize it. This is evidenced by the indicators of humidity and pulse sensors. An intuitive person has increased and developed attention; he observes his own feelings and makes the right choice, without realizing the process itself.
- Human intuition can be of a mystical nature. It is considered the most interesting and mysterious. According to researchers, this is the most irrational way to receive information from above. The ability to come into contact with the information field or God, as you prefer to call it. In this case, the process cannot be explained as in previous cases. It is this type of intuition that is called providence and clairvoyance.
Brilliant musicians, artists and other artistic people are subject to such spontaneous contact with higher powers. Many of the greats said that they did not invent their works themselves, but heard or saw them in their visions or in dreams. Probably, Mendeleev with his periodic table can also be considered an example of such mystical insight.
Male intuition is less common due to the fact that men are more rational and less emotional. Their sensuality is less “pumped up”. Therefore, they are less likely to experience insights in everyday life, but developed intuition in the professional sphere is as common as in women. It just has a slightly different form, more rational and down-to-earth.
Empathy and intuition are not always related to each other. This again depends on the type of intuition. The ability to penetrate into other people's emotions and take on their burden may affect the sensual and emotional form of the sixth sense, but will not have any significance for the intellectual and professional one.
You are haunted by intrusive thoughts
Notice to yourself when you start replaying the same situation in your head over and over again and can’t get rid of it.
.
An intrusive thought or feeling is a sign that your gut is talking to you. It tells you that there is a situation that you need to think carefully about.
This can be related to any area of life: work, relationships, family, moving to a new place.
If you can't stop thinking about it, take a break, stop and think about it. Give yourself time to absorb what you are trying to understand. You will hear the correct answer.
Signs of developed intuition
Almost all of us actually have this ability, which is called social intuition. It is thanks to her that we can interact with society and the world around us. However, there are especially gifted people who have a heightened sense of what is happening and the ability to draw the right conclusions before their minds turn on. Women often have strong intuition. Even Einstein recognized the importance of the sixth sense.
People who have highly developed intuition have distinctive qualities:
✔️ They see vivid, rich dreams that resemble reality. The plot of dreams can be fantastic, but the emotions are quite real. After an event experienced in a dream, a person wakes up with a desperately beating heart and one thought or emotion, which is the key knowledge.
✔️ For example, a woman can foresee a divorce several months before it happens. At the same time, she has no reasons or reasons to think about breaking up. She may see in a dream a hurricane or tornado that plunges the world into chaos and threatens her death. Moreover, the confusion of feelings is actually a reflection of what she has yet to experience.
✔️ From such people you can hear the phrase: “intuition told me.” Indeed, clues from the sixth sense can be caught at the most unexpected moment. For example, when meeting someone or in an unfamiliar place. You suddenly understand where you need to go, or you can foresee the reactions and behavior of the person you see for the first time in your life.
Sometimes an intuitive sense can predict trouble, but we try in every possible way to drive away bad thoughts from ourselves. Those endowed with sense also have a sensitivity to physical processes. They are dependent on weather changes and pressure changes, and suffer from weather sensitivity.
✔️ Sometimes developed intuition (mystical) is accompanied by visions. Not hallucinations, but a spontaneous play of the imagination. Just as we see dreams while at rest, such people are able to see pictures in reality. But only very creative people with a rich imagination are capable of this, who are able to “superpose” a picture on top of reality.
You have vivid dreams
If you have an important decision to make or you're worried about something, don't be surprised when you suddenly start having unusually vivid dreams.
This is your subconscious mind testing various solutions.
to help you achieve the best results.
Once you make a decision and take a strong stand based on your initial thoughts, you will find that you will begin to sleep with a clear mind and heart.
Pay attention to your dreams - they are trying to tell you something.
Which zodiac signs have the strongest intuition?
It is possible to identify zodiac signs with strong intuition, but it cannot be said that others are completely devoid of it. As you remember, everyday, intellectual and professional intuition appears with experience, and in general, does not depend on what day and month a person was born. In addition, hereditary traits cannot be denied. If parents have the gift of foreseeing certain events and finding solutions through flashes of insight, then their children are likely to also be endowed with these abilities.
Zodiac signs with superhuman intuition:
- People born under the sign of Cancer have a sensitive nature and can foresee trouble long before it happens. Some of them have a good understanding of people, but use this gift ineptly and imprudently. As a result, they only harm themselves. Thanks to their “feeling,” they find the right tone of conversation and know how to win over their interlocutor.
- Those born under the sign of Pisces rarely have such a trait as constancy. They swim with the flow of life and choose one direction or another in an intuitive way. When asked how they knew what to do, they themselves do not know the answer. They just feel that it will be right and that’s all.
- Scorpios are very difficult to deceive. And not only because many of the people of this sign have intelligence and insight. They are acutely aware of lies. But only if they themselves do not want to be deceived. In this case, they become blind and deaf not only to reasonable arguments, but also to their own intuitive signals. The stronger the disappointment that eventually overtakes them.
- Libras are endowed with an extreme degree of curiosity. After a person of this sign understands that he is marked from above with the gift of intuition, he begins to experiment on himself and those around him, accumulating useful experience. Thanks to their developed sense, they are able to guess the danger posed by their opponent and avoid unnecessary problems.
- Virgos have always been considered good diplomats. They are among those who meticulously and diligently carry out their work and therefore accumulate the very professionalism and experience from which a special type of intuition is born. Often they find the right solution to a problem, relying precisely on their sixth sense.
Predictive models
How did this division of intelligence appear in living beings? Most likely, from the vital need of these creatures for predictions. Any predator needs to be able to accurately predict where it will land as a result of a jump, otherwise it will miss and be left without food.
Akella missed the mark, he can no longer be our leader
The Jungle Book by R. Kipling
The same can be said about his sacrifice. If the object of a predator's hunt can itself predict where the pursuer's jump is directed, then it is quite possible that he will be able, by adjusting his behavior, to escape and stay alive. As a result, we can view each hunt [including] as a competition between versions of the predictive intelligence unit. Whose version predicts better, faster and more accurately is the one who survives.
However, an individual’s intelligence cannot do without just one predictive model for all immediately surrounding predators (or herbivores) if he wants to predict everyone well at once. This means that a set of models is needed, and this in turn requires the correct comparison of each predictive model with the observed phenomenon of the surrounding world. Then the division of individual behavior is also supplemented with cognitive functionality .
Let us also note that the result of the model’s prediction is expressed non-verbally, in the form of a certain feeling of correctness that is difficult to express in words. For example, the correctness of the throw or the correctness of the choice.
What does all this have to do with intuition? The most direct. Let us recall such signs of intuition as non-verbality [in the form of a certain sensation] and a correct forecast of what will happen in the future. Thus, a certain part (if not all) of the manifestations of intuition can be safely attributed to the work of a very archaic, but extremely useful subdivision of the intellect in constructing and selecting predictive models of the world surrounding the individual.
You are always safe
The one thing you should never doubt is the inner feeling that you are in danger.
Think about all the times you came back late at night, traveled somewhere alone, or just walked down the street. Your instincts were leading you away from dark corners, or maybe your inner voice was telling you to turn around.
If you notice that you get goosebumps or feel a chill through your body when you are scared or something goes wrong, this is a good sign of strong intuition.
When you feel what is happening with your body, you can assess how safe a particular situation is. This will save you a lot of trouble in the long run.
You find the good in people
If you have good intuition, don't be surprised by the fact that you get along with almost anyone.
Intuitive people are sensitive to other people's emotions and can read between the lines
. They read a person's soul, see what is hidden behind the mask and what is important to the other person, establishing connections and breaking down barriers.
However, remember that your intuition can tell you when something is going wrong. She will send you signals in the presence of someone who influences you positively or negatively.
This inner voice can truly save you from unnecessary people, so listen to it.
You are thinking about someone and that person writes to you
Surely, you have had situations when you were thinking about someone, and this person suddenly sent you a message, or you accidentally met him in a cafe.
This suggests that your intuition senses events that are about to happen.
.
Try to find out the reason for the sudden appearance of a person in your life. Reply to his message and ask what made him write to you. Who knows, maybe you came back into each other's lives for a purpose.
