Features of communication in the modern world. Levels of Communication

Features of communication in the modern world. Levels of Communication

This level of communication is directly related to a sense of humor; it is very important for any informal relationship. For example, family relationships are unlikely to be sufficiently harmonious and constantly renewed without mutual play and humor.

It happens that people with a certain type of character and temperament use the game level in conversations that require a completely different level of communication. This does not mean at all that these people are not capable of serious action, it is simply a consequence of a certain mentality. Such people belong to the hyperthymic psychotype (cheerful, energetic people). By the way, if we are overly irritated by such optimists, maybe we should think about whether we take life too seriously?

Spiritual

The name shows that this level of communication is characterized by the greatest degree of disclosure of one’s personality and immersion in the personality of the interlocutor. This level sometimes requires considerable internal effort, which not everyone is capable of. The spiritual level of communication is used by some especially close relatives and friends. Confessing to a priest, a sincere story about yourself, will certainly require a particularly deep spiritual level of communication. A special feature of the spiritual level of communication is the unhurried pace of speech, the reason for which is a special trusting attitude towards the interlocutor, towards communication with him.

Situation: She shows Him a notebook of her school poems, and He, instead of showing interest, makes the remark: “I thought you were talking about something serious.” This pattern of behavior is fundamentally wrong. She offers Him communication on a spiritual level, but He perceives it on a primitive business level. “Hmm, you made some pretty good sonnets,” he should say, even if it’s not entirely true.

Mask level

Everyone can count many masks. The interlocutor inevitably puts on a mask of friendliness, seriousness, and politeness, since sometimes it is simply psychologically impossible to invest all your mental resources and charm into communication. You should also take into account not only verbal contacts - no less often we encounter someone simply by looking at them, silently shaking someone’s hand, this also takes energy, and we protect ourselves with the help of masks (MirSovetov talked about this in more detail in the material “Nonverbal means of communication"). Note that when you give a less-than-sincere compliment, you put on a mask so as not to get hurt by your own insincerity. The concept of lying is directly related to the mask system. The level of masks also includes the concepts of “Formal level”, “Level of maintaining contact”, “Level of standard conversation” (according to Byudzhental). The formal level is characterized by maintaining a certain impression of oneself and maintaining a certain distance. The level of maintaining contact is communication between people in a more relaxed manner, communication at the level of facts and opinions. The standard conversation level is an everyday dialogue between loved ones and acquaintances.

Communication is one of the oldest ways of exchanging information between people, and the emergence of the Internet has become a fundamental factor in the globalization of this process. Over time, the role of the Internet in human daily life has greatly increased. If previously it was used mainly for exchanging files, now the Internet has become a tool for solving a number of problems.

Communication via the Internet has many advantages compared to traditional methods of communication. This type of communication makes it easy to make new acquaintances, since such communication is mediated by a computer and does not require much effort to maintain friendly relations.

At the moment, there are a large number of ways to communicate online, such as email, chats, social networks, forums, etc.

E-mail, which is an analogue of the regular postal system, can rightfully be considered the most convenient and universal means of exchanging information. E-mail has a number of advantages, the main ones being minimal costs, speed of delivery, the ability to send multiple copies of one letter to different recipients, etc.

Electronic correspondence has the following features:

  • Mediocrity;
  • According to the method of interaction, it can be either a dialogue or a monologue;
  • Any style of speech is acceptable;
  • Various forms of information exchange.

Forums, in turn, are a platform for joint discussion of a specific issue. This form of interaction allows people to obtain a sufficient amount of information on a given topic, as well as share their personal opinions.

Another type of virtual communication that should be highlighted is video chats. Video chat is communication via a web camera and microphone. Video chats can be considered a new stage in the development of regular text chats. Despite its relatively recent appearance, video chats are one of the most popular types of Internet communications. This can be explained by the fact that video chats have expanded the capabilities of users and brought online communication to a new level, bringing it as close as possible to “live”.

The development of the Internet and information technology does not stand still. There is a certain steady trend aimed at strengthening connections between individuals and society as a whole. This integration is carried out primarily to increase profits, as it forces users to spend more time online.

Disadvantages of Internet communication

Communicating on the Internet for entertainment seems to me to be a flawed form of communication. Yes, sometimes this is the only opportunity (kilometers separate), but in other cases I am for real contacts. And that's why:

  • In real communication, we see all the interlocutor’s reactions according to the “here and now” principle: tone and speed of speech, gestures, facial expressions, and so on. This reduces the risks of misinterpretation of information or deception.
  • Real communication is live. It does not allow you to delete the first thought. On the Internet, a person clearly filters what he writes.
  • On the Internet we receive and see what they want to show us. While in life one can discern much more, the secrets of the subconscious. You can store gigabytes of correspondence and essentially learn nothing about a person (which is a waste of time and effort), or you can get a complete picture of a person in a half-hour meeting.
  • No matter how much you decorate online communication with emoticons, it remains dry and emotionless. This, as I already said, is good for business relationships (although also not 100%), but bad for informal relationships.
  • As a rule, speech on the Internet undergoes changes: abbreviations, errors, slang. Gradually this is assimilated and moves into real life (one virtual “SPS”, which is also pronounced by some people in life, for what it’s worth). The quality of speech is an important element of personality. The Internet does not develop communication and oratorical abilities.
  • Illusory perception, the imaginary similarity of interests and views on the world, as a result - disappointment and a feeling of lost time. This is especially true for online dating. What do we see when it comes to printed communication? Photos, pictures, emoticons, signs and symbols - information that they want to tell us.
  • Interaction via the Internet leaves only communication itself as an activity, although in life it is more often an element of other activities (work, study, games), and actions and actions are valued more than words.
  • Accidentally sending a letter to the wrong recipient, screenshots, recordings and other “compromising evidence”.
  • As long as virtual communication remains virtual, you can create and maintain any image of yourself. This is what makes some people addicted to the Internet. Escaping reality into a fictional world is an inadequate behavior strategy, not a solution to problems. People go to all sorts of tricks, they even came up with virtual sex. How can this process be virtual? Yes, there is no chance of getting pregnant or getting sick, but what is the real problem? Fear of intimacy, self-doubt, complexes, failure in life - these are the true problems.
  • Communication in virtual space changes a person’s consciousness, speech and ways of interacting with the world. Excessively “greenhouse” conditions are harmful to the individual in the same way as chronic stress. If a person creates his own ideal and comfortable world on the Internet, then gradually he completely learns to respond adequately to external stimuli (and in the real world there are always enough of them). The more frequent the irritation, the higher the desire to completely get bogged down in virtual communication.

Let's not forget about the possibility of anonymous communication. Unfortunately, this often results in a feeling of impunity and permissiveness. Although sometimes it is easier to speak out anonymously and feel more confident, you can exaggerate your capabilities.

By the way, the influence of anonymity and its use depends on the individual personal characteristics of a person. For example, teenagers with an age-related unstable psyche and individual psychological problems (uncertainty, fears) are susceptible to the development of permissiveness and promiscuity on the Internet, which later turns into real life.

More about the term and history of the concept

American economist Theodore Levitt first used the term “globalization” in 1983 to describe the merging of markets for products produced by TNCs (transnational companies). The origin of this term is also attributed to the American sociologist Richard Robinson.

However, modern world science has not yet developed a generally accepted single definition of the phenomenon of globalization. The formulations are either purely descriptive or mutually exclusive.

The development of the global market makes economic nationalism meaningless. It has not yet been revealed exactly what globalization is and what the features of the modern world are in changes as it progresses: objectivity of development or spontaneous spontaneity, or perhaps organization, purposefulness and bringing all countries to a certain standard.

Concept of communication methods

There are two main options for organizing communication: verbal and nonverbal communication.
Also, modern society has developed another option for communication - interaction in the Internet space. Definition 1

Verbal communication is the process of establishing contacts between people based on the use of speech skills, words and symbols of language. Nonverbal communication is the process of organizing communicative interaction, excluding the use of speech, i.e. communication in this case occurs through facial gestures and a system of signs.

Internet as a way to organize intercultural communication

Communication, both by email and on forums and chats, cannot necessarily take place only within one country. Since the Internet is the World Wide Web, therefore, people from different countries can communicate. So, for example, if a person born and raised in Russia speaks English at a good level, then nothing prevents him from having correspondence not only with people living on the territory of our vast homeland and speaking Russian, but also with any foreigner, which can be located in the United Kingdom, the USA, or practically any English-speaking country. This gives him the opportunity to participate in all kinds of international Internet forums and communicate in chats, providing himself with the opportunity to explore the culture of other countries and give foreigners an idea of his culture - the culture of Russia. Thus, the Internet, covering almost all civilized corners of the planet, is a powerful means of intercultural communication, which contributes to the rapprochement of peoples and the growth of their national and interethnic self-awareness.

Internationalization of the economy

First of all, globalization is the highest degree of interdependence of all economic entities. Secondly, productivity growth and higher competitiveness due to increased information volume and quality of knowledge, as well as technology development.

That is, along with the process of merging all national economies into a global system, the process of globalization is the formation of humanity as an integral structure. The third interpretation of this term is a way of updating the world order.

In any case, the political, economic, social, and cultural spheres of different countries tend to merge, as the interdependence of states grows, and the global social organism gradually becomes unified. These are the features of the modern world - social science, when studying globalization, uses a whole range of disciplines, closely connecting them with each other.

World Historical Space

The division of world historical space took shape already by the beginning of the twentieth century. The borders basically coincided with the division of the international capitalist system into two opposing historical worlds: one of them is the Western world ortho-capitalist system, the other is the countries of the periphery where para-capitalism arose.

Following the development vector of today's modern world, Russia entered the dependent system of the periphery at the end of the nineteenth century, along with many other countries in which para-capitalism was formed.

Distinctive features of the modern world are the processes of replacing internationalization with globalization. The creation of a global system of historical organisms in society is internationalization. And globalization creates a single sociohistorical organism. The scale of this process is the entire humanity.

The sociohistorical organism, the birth of which we are witnessing at the present time, is a class one, since it exists in conditions of split. The ortho-capitalist center exploiting the periphery is the Western countries. The exploited periphery is the rest of the world. The features of the development of the modern world depend entirely on the characteristics of the processes of this split. It is precisely the global class war that we are witnessing at the present time.
