If you are on this page, then you know what self-hypnosis and immersion technique are. But for the rest of us, we need to explain a little what self-hypnosis is, how you can work with it and what you can use it for. But more on that below. A description of the technique itself is also below. If you need the equipment itself, scroll below.
What is self-hypnosis?
Self-hypnosis is a state between sleep and wakefulness. It is also called meditative. In this state, it is easy to use the resources of your subconscious, such as positive suggestions, psychotherapy, intuition, etc.
In a state of self-hypnosis, you can program yourself to have positive experiences. For example, with the help of the power of the unconscious, you can easily give up bad habits, lose weight, find meaning in life, and so on. The unconscious has an unlimited resource, and most importantly, it always wants to help us.
That is, any problem that you want to solve with the help of self-hypnosis, the unconscious will solve if you ask it to do so. If you don’t ask, then the decision won’t be made. Imagine that your unconscious is like a powerful computer that just needs to write a program and it will easily execute it. But the question is, how to write a program correctly? More on this below.
Meditation
Meditation is the concentration of thought on one object and the exclusion of all other thoughts and experiences. An important part of any meditation is stopping internal dialogue. Inside himself, a person scrolls through different thoughts, remembers conversations with other people: his mind is constantly busy with mental activity, which is called internal dialogue.
What can you do to clear your thoughts of internal dialogue? There is a very simple technique for this: you need to look at both your hands at the same time, and carefully. The mind will immediately stop conducting internal dialogue, as it will be busy contemplating two objects at the same time. Another method to stop the flow of unnecessary thoughts: focus on your breathing process, carefully record each inhalation/exhalation and listen to the sound of breathing. After a couple of minutes, your thoughts will be completely cleared of the vain dialogue.
The stages of meditation are as follows:
- determination of the object of meditation (installation);
- entering a state of emptiness;
- feeling within oneself of a given attitude and contemplating it;
- exit from a state of emptiness with an attitude embedded in the subconscious.
For meditation to be effective, the instructions must be short and succinct. It is important to feel them inside yourself, your inner world. How long will this take? Everyone has their own deadlines for implementation. During meditation, you need to be aware of the creation of another reality, as if in an “empty place” or in emptiness. The meditation can be repeated as needed.
What can self-hypnosis be used for?
Everything is the same as what I wrote above, but here’s a little more detail. I believe that a person is a little understudied in terms of the psyche and his resources. I am sure that a person has all the strength to become more successful, richer, has self-healing skills, spiritual past lives (if you believe in them).
Let me tell you about my experience, why I used self-hypnosis. I remember once I lost the TV remote control, I couldn’t find it for half a year. Not at all, I remember the last time I used it and that’s it. And then he just disappeared.

And so, I lie down on the bed, set the program to find bullets from the chick and the faster the better, I enter self-hypnosis for 30 minutes, completely switch off (yes, you can go deep like that), leave the meditative state and simply forget, and a week later I find my remote controller. Why in a week, I don’t know, but our unconscious needs time to rearrange the universe a little.
I really love self-hypnosis to quickly restore strength if I’m tired or haven’t slept much. In 30 minutes of rest, you feel as if you slept for 2-3 hours. For one thing, you can solve the problem while you are in self-hypnosis.
Blood pressure control? Yes Easy! We all experience changes in internal pressure and, accordingly, this makes us feel, to put it mildly, not very good. In self-hypnosis, you can ask your unconscious to equalize the pressure and improve your well-being.
I will warn, of course, that although working with the unconscious is a powerful tool, it is not a substitute for classical treatment.
The most important thing to work with the unconscious is psychotherapy. Healing from childhood traumas, I believe, is the most painstaking work on oneself if a person wants to achieve success, wealth and everything he wants. After all, if we don’t let go of everything that pulls us down from the past, it will be difficult to rise up.
Through communication with our inner self, it is easy to understand what we need. The main thing is to learn to listen to yourself, communicate with yourself, trust yourself and all the trump cards are in our hands.
Here we can describe for a long time why the unconscious can help us, but this is too long, we ourselves have plenty of resources, so we can experiment a little.
From the author
Methodological recommendations are devoted to the use of self-hypnosis to overcome crisis situations, solve psychophysiological problems and enhance the therapeutic effect of traditional drug therapy for various psychosomatic disorders and chronic diseases. The manual describes in detail the methods of self-hypnosis and provides specific formulas of suggestions.
The methodological recommendations are intended for psychiatrists, psychotherapists, clinical psychologists interested in teaching their patients methods of psychological self-help, as well as all those who are interested in mental health problems - people who want to learn how to manage their internal state, to understand the secrets of self-management.
When I started practicing psychotherapy more than 30 years ago, the main method of mental self-regulation was autogenic training. The basic elements of the technique were muscle relaxation training and self-hypnosis. However, the duration of training for this procedure, its emotional unattractiveness, combined with the monotonous pronunciation of suggestion formulas and intellectual complexity repelled patients from it. The desire to give a sick person a method of immediate psychological self-help drew our attention to the method of self-hypnosis. The new technique quickly gained popularity and was accepted and recognized by the majority of patients, and a quarter of a century of experience in using this technique confirmed its high effectiveness.

How to program yourself before self-hypnosis?
The main rule is to be specific about what is needed. If you need to get up at 6.37 in the morning, then ask yourself “I will get up on the morning of October 6, 2022 at 6.37.” You can’t ask yourself abstractly, like getting up earlier tomorrow. The unconscious needs a measure, such as date, quantity, exact time, color, additional parameters.
For example, a person has a request: I want to become a little richer. How much richer? For 1 ruble? So he became richer, all the requests were fulfilled. But if so, I become richer by 100,000 rubles, this is already specifics and the unconscious understands such specifics.
It is also necessary to abandon the word I want, simply because you can want all your life, replace it, for example, with I receive.
And also, it is necessary to write down the request in the present tense, no future or past, only here and now. Example, I am getting married to a blond man, 190 cm tall, weighing 95 kg, IQ 110, within 1 year from now. This is how our unconscious understands.
In short, before plunging into self-hypnosis, say to yourself exactly what you want, you can write it down on paper and read it. The unconscious will understand everything.
Coue's self-hypnosis method
The technique of self-hypnosis according to the Coue method is based on repeating the same phrase (or 3 - 4 phrases) in a drowsy state or immediately before falling asleep. At these moments, the human brain works at a special frequency, which allows information to penetrate the subconscious without obstacles.
For example, immediately after waking up, before opening your eyes, you need to repeat to yourself at least 20 times the key phrase “I am healthy” (or another). You will also need to find time to repeat affirmations 2 times during the day. You need to relax - lie down or close your eyes while sitting - and say the key phrase out loud or to yourself at least 20 times. It usually takes 2 - 2.5 months to materialize the plan.
The simplest self-hypnosis technique (diagram)
Now to the actual matter. Now I will briefly describe the essence of the matter, and then in more detail.
We need to load our senses in order to distract our consciousness so that the unconscious will take over and we can communicate with it.
Before the dive we say the following phrase: dear unconscious, I enter a state of self-hypnosis for exactly 30 minutes in order to solve my problem (here you describe the problem you want to solve, how to formulate the problem, described above). ALL.
We get comfortable and don’t move. We find 3 visual points, look at one for 10-20 seconds (no need to count to yourself, the time of concentration on a point is not important, just look until you get tired), at the second for 10-20 seconds, at the third for 10-20 seconds. Don't rush, there's enough time. When to move your gaze from one point to another, you will understand intuitively.
Next, we concentrate on any first sound (heartbeat, noise outside the window, the computer is running, neighbors are talking) for 10-20 seconds, move on to any second sound for 10-20 seconds, to the third for 10-20 seconds. There are no problems with sounds; we are constantly surrounded by many sounds.

Next, we move on to kinesthetics: we transfer our attention to any touch, for example a chain, presses on the neck for 10-20 seconds, the hand feels the sofa for 10-20 seconds, the taste of saliva for 10-20 seconds.
We are transferred again to the visual points, but this time to two, not three. We look at one point for 10-20 seconds, at the second point for 10-20 seconds.
We turn our attention to sound 1 for 10-20 seconds, sound 2 for 10-20 seconds.
We turn our attention to kinesthetics, 1st sensation 10-20 seconds, 2nd sensation 10-20 seconds.
We return again to visual points, look at one point for 10-20 seconds
We hear one sound for 10-20 seconds
We feel one thing for 10-20 seconds.
Visualization
Another psychotechnic for influencing the subconscious. Visualization is like a feature film inside your mind. A person sees vivid pictures of any event, smells and tastes, feels emotions. What should you present? For example, you need your own home - imagine it. You can first make a drawing of the house or find a picture and print it on a printer.
What do we have to do? Just imagine how you are already living in this house, that you are the rightful owner (mistress) of a two-room apartment/three-room apartment/cottage/dacha. You can imagine before bed, when the body is relaxed and preparing for sleep. You need to get used to this situation that you imagine, live in it constantly.
What is the effectiveness of visualization based on? The brain perceives imaginary pictures in the same way as real ones. Some time will pass, and all your ideas will come to life and be embodied in matter.
You just need to imagine not from the side or from above, but from inside the situation. For example, you are sitting behind the wheel of a car and looking at the road. If you imagine that the car is somewhere near you, then everything will come true - next to you. It's the same with the house. You should vividly imagine inserting the keys into the keyhole and entering your home. You can first visualize empty walls, and then gradually furnish the house with furniture.
How long does it take to visualize? There is no clear time frame for this psychotechnics. It is more important to completely relax your body before visualization than to track the duration of the internal movie session.
CLOSE YOUR EYES!!!
Now everything is the same, but we imagine it.
We visualize any 1 item. Apple, car, Keanu Reeves 10-20 seconds
We remember any sound, meowing, a cow mooing, a dog barking, the voice of a favorite actor for 10-20 seconds.
We imagine any sensation, for example, how the wind blows in your face for 10-20 seconds.
We return to the visual, imagine 1 any object for 10-20 sec, 2 any object for 10-20 sec
Imagine any 2 sensations for 10-20 seconds.
And again we return to the visual part, present any 3 objects in turn for 10-20 seconds
Any sounds in turn for 10-20 seconds
Any 3 sensations in turn for 10-20 seconds.
Usually people fail here already. But in reality they just dive very deep. If before entering self-hypnosis you programmed yourself for the duration of the session, for example 30 minutes, then you will wake up exactly 30 minutes later. Marvelous.
Psychologists would NOT want you to know these secrets about yourself
—Imagine this situation...
What if, instead of paying for years for useless consultations with a psychologist, in 21 days you can work with yourself? Get rid of negative thoughts and states forever. And instead live a calm and happy life? Stop living in stress due to relationships or constant lack of money?
Tell me this is impossible?
I thought so too, until I started working with myself
LIVING HAPPY IS EASY
My name is Ivan, I am 35 years old, and I have been practicing psychology for 15 years. I have studied all the basic methods and techniques through which I help people find happiness. NLP, hypnosis, body-image therapy. I was invited on television as an expert.
And it was... just a nightmare!
I lived in a state of depression for 7 years (constant stress exhausted me). I had a lot of low self-confidence (my self-esteem was below 0). I could not calmly communicate with people, it seemed to me that I was not worthy of them.
The relationship did not work out (because I was very negative, jealous, a doormat). I’m generally silent about decent earnings; I earned 15,000 rubles a month and thought that was the limit. I didn’t want to live... Envy.
The worst thing is, I thought I would have to live like this forever, and I don’t deserve love and happiness.
But it only got worse, negative states fell on me like a snowball. It felt like I was sitting in a deep, black hole from which there was no way out. Hopelessness, despair, pain, resentment.
My life has turned into endless torture. But then a miracle happened...
I FOUND THE KEY... EVERYONE HAS IT...
One day my father came home from work, a little drunk, although he never drank much.
He came into the kitchen..., looked at me with a dissatisfied expression and began to say with anger how worthless I was, how I couldn’t do anything, and in general, how sorry he was that he was my father.
At first I felt severe mental pain (this is very painful to hear from my family). Then I got offended (does that mean I’m not a favorite son?!) And then an insight came to me...
I received that magical kick that I had been waiting for all my life. It changed my thinking, my life and my relationships with my environment.
I had already forgiven my father simply because he told me the truth and I was happy about it!
But then the most interesting thing began...
Literally 5 minutes later I was already sitting at the computer and writing out all the psychological (!) methods of working with myself.
I was even confused, because my plans were to continue to suffer all my life.
It was such an incredible feeling of freedom and desire to do something that I burst into tears of happiness.

Crisis situations
Using self-hypnosis, a person can mobilize his internal reserves and resources to overcome crisis situations. The hypnotic state is useful, first of all, because it opens up opportunities for making changes in the psyche. By introducing oneself into self-hypnosis, a person can focus his attention much more deeply on a problematic situation, thinking about its different sides. Remaining calm and confident in crisis situations, he is able to clearly control his emotions and his behavior.
Another feature is the psychological effect of self-hypnosis, which changes a person’s perception, giving new meaning to an old situation.
Self-hypnosis can be successfully used by people who lack self-confidence before speaking in large audiences or at concerts.

Making a decision to make certain changes in yourself
In crisis situations or emerging psychophysiological problems that do not reach the level of illness, a person himself can decide to use self-hypnosis. In such situations, he must analyze his state, psychophysiological resources and clearly define goals: change behavior or emotional reactions to various situations, get rid of obsessive thoughts or actions, etc. and so on.
When using self-hypnosis for therapeutic purposes, one must be very careful. Without medical education, you cannot diagnose yourself. Even if you know that you have a psychosomatic disorder or a chronic disease, treatment should be prescribed by a doctor.
Using self-hypnosis, a person must rely on the conclusion of the attending physician about the presence of a particular disease. It is advisable that your doctor approves your use of self-hypnosis and conducts dynamic monitoring of your health.
Implementation of the therapeutic program
Implementing a therapeutic program means imagining a pre-compiled scenario, plot, verbal formula of suggestions or color based on the requirements of the final goal. If you are capable of imaginative thinking, you need to focus on the plot and break it down frame by frame from the initial state to the desired one.
Having chosen an image or formula of suggestion, you must concentrate on it as much as possible. But in practice, it can be quite difficult to keep attention on them for a long time. A series of extraneous thoughts and images arises. After you realize that you have left the original image, you need to return to it, but not immediately, but through the entire chain of thoughts and images in reverse order.
By practicing self-hypnosis, modeling various images, you can create individual images-symbols of health for yourself.
For skin diseases, it is recommended to imagine the affected areas of the skin on which balsamic dressings are applied. You can imagine how, when applying a bandage, the itching and burning sensation from the affected area of the skin goes away, and a pleasant coolness appears. By slowly removing the bandage, you can see healthy, tender skin.
If you tend to abstract from images, correlating the desired state with a specific color, then you should concentrate your attention on a specific color, holding it and increasing its brightness.
For those suffering from chronic headaches, we can recommend the following figurative and color combination: “Concentrate your attention inside your head. Visually and figuratively imagine the intracranial space as black. Then gradually roll the black color into a lump so that outside of it the color becomes lighter and lighter. Gradually, slowly, replace the black color with a light one (preferably blue or green), relaxed, constantly observing the color change. When the color changes completely, the headache will go away.
If you have psoriasis or any other skin disease, visually imagine the affected areas in some unpleasant color for you. After you clearly imagine this, replace the color of the affected areas with another color, the one you prefer. When performing this operation, make sure that the color changes occur gradually. Step by step you will see new skin sprouting right before your eyes. Do this slowly and very visually.
Positive images of the past can be effective: You are swimming in the sea, basking in the sun, lying in a warm bath with aromatic additives, etc. The discomfort that has disappeared after these procedures is an objective indicator of the success of self-hypnosis.
One of the most common problems with which patients turn to doctors is sleep disturbance. Prolonged difficulty falling asleep, restless sleep, unpleasant dreams, sleep that does not give rest and much more. Self-hypnosis helps to cope with some of these conditions. For the above problems, it is good to use self-hypnosis immediately in the evening before bedtime, transferring the state of self-hypnosis to sleep. To do this, you can use images of a person sleeping soundly, warm and soft colors. The formulas of suggestions may sound like this: “I easily and quickly fall into a pleasant drowsiness, which envelops me more and more. My sleep is calm, deep, with joyful, bright dreams. In the morning I wake up cheerful and well rested.”
A dream is a product of the unconscious functioning of the brain. However, this does not mean that a person cannot control his dreams. Maybe. Moreover, a person can order dreams for himself. Learn to control your dreams: erase unnecessary and disturbing images, fill them with black paint, stop dangerously developing plots, etc.
The formation of healing dreams is another way a person influences himself when he edits or rewrites the script of his life in his dreams.
The use of suggestion formulas has its own specifics. Suggestion formulas (SF) during self-hypnosis can be short, consisting of one sentence, or long, included in some context.
PV for alcohol addiction: “The very sight of alcohol disgusts me, the smell of alcohol disgusts me. Never a drop of alcohol anywhere.”
FV for toxicosis and vomiting of pregnant women: “Any food is pleasant to me. I have a wonderful appetite. I eat well and with pleasure.”
FV with anxiety: “I’m not afraid of anxiety. There are many sorrows in life, and I will endure them all. You don't have to get rid of everything unpleasant to feel confident. From now on I will be able to control my emotions. I don’t want to worry too much about everything, because there is no sufficient reason for this. I will try to stay calm even in difficult situations. I am in control." These suggestions can be associated with certain post-hypnotic cues (see below). For example: “I have self-control and can relax by focusing on my breathing. I consciously slow my breathing. I remember that I can cope with the feeling of anxiety. After all, this has happened to me before. Everything will be fine, I close my eyes for a moment and imagine a peaceful environment. Now, whenever I feel anxiety coming on, I will breathe deeper. It’s like I turn the light on and off or slowly turn it down and turn it up using a relay... I regulate my state... from the depths of the subconscious... from the inside... I confidently move towards the goal.”
Rules for drawing up self-hypnosis formulas:
- Positive wording. You should talk about what you want to get, and not about what you want to get rid of: “Every day I become more and more confident,” “When I come out of a hypnotic trance, I will be in a great mood and feel great.”
- In the formulas of suggestion, the particles “NOT” and “NI” should be absent. Negative particles are often not perceived by our consciousness. If you tell yourself, “I don’t want to be upset,” the command will be perceived as “I want to be upset.” Therefore, the formula of suggestions in this case should be: “I want to be calm in any, the most difficult life situations.”
- Brevity. Long phrases often lose meaning. Therefore, the formula should be as short as possible.
- 4. Unambiguity. The formula for self-hypnosis should be unambiguous. The ambiguity of interpretation of the suggestion formula is reflected in the result.
- Environmental friendliness. The implemented formulas of suggestions should not harm you or make you worse. Remember that realizing a desire has many consequences, and these consequences are not always what can benefit you.
Examples of suggestion formulas:
— I can easily cope with problematic situations.
— Every day I become more and more cheerful.
Color, images and suggestion formulas can be combined.
